He moved to Pomona,, CA in 1951 where he worked for the Burlington Silk Mill until he retired in Oct 1959 after 50 years in the textile business. In 1961 Fred went to work for the Philadelphia Street Methodist Church as caretaker for 8 years. In 1971 sold his home in Pomona and was living with his daughter, Mrs. Robert Tafoya in Alta Loma,, CA.

He was married to Nella E. SPENCER on 5 Jun 1912 in Sidney, , NY. Married at her home by Rev. D.L. McDonald, pastor of First Methodist Church, Sidney, NY. Nella E. SPENCER was born on 13 Feb 1887 in Sidney, , NY. Born on old Spencer Homestead. She died on 9 Sep 1967 in Pomona, , CA. She was buried in Pomona, , CA. Buried Pomona Valley cem. Fred E. CHAMBERLAIN and Nella E. SPENCER had the following children:
