41. Catharine VOSBURGH . On 5 Oct., 1766, they were received into the membership of the Dutch Reformed Church at Red Hook, N. Y., from the church on the Flatts. Jacob Heermance of Red Hook, made his will 9 March, 1784, proved 26 Sept., 1785, and recorded in New York. In it he mentions eldest son Andreas and sons John, Jacob and Martin, and daus. Cornelia, wife of David Van Ness, Neeltje, wife of Peter Cantine, Annetje, wife of Isaac Stoutenburgh, Jr., and Dorothea. Jacob Heermance lived in and probably built the stone house at one time occupied by Lowis Beckwith, west of Henry Benner's on the road from Henry Cotting's to the river, near the post road (Smith's History of Rhinebeck N. Y., p. 84).

157 v. Jacob HERMANS was born on 28 Feb 1760.(1) He was baptized in Rhinebeck Flatts, Dutchess, NY. (1) Sponsors Folkert Witbeck and Dorothe Vosburg.

159 vii. Martin HERMANS was baptized on 19 May 1766 in Rhinebeck Flatts, Dutchess, NY.(1) Sponsors Pieter Vosburg and Dorothea Knickerbocker. Martin married a dau. of Dr. Hans Kiersted. Martin came into possession of his father-in-law's property at Red Hook where in 1793 he built the present brick mansion (above authority).
