Eva And Arie Were Cousins. Eva Was A Musician. At 12 Years Of Age Was Organist
At Church In Grass Lake And Continued For 10 Years. After Her Marriage At Dighton,
She Was The Organist In The Presbyterian Church There For 5 Years. Eva Was
Also Proficient As A Mandolin Player. Arie, Her Husband, Was A Very Good Singer
And Often Accompanied Her, Either Singing Or Playingthe Organ Or Piano.
Eva Was A Seamtress And Made Clothing As A Profession. She And Her Husband,
Arie, Also Were Owners And Operator Of A Large Boarding House In Flint, Mi.
Herbert Davis, Emma's Son, Grew Up In His Aunt Eva's Home And Later, Evelyne,
Herbert's Daughter And Husband Made Their Home With Eva. After Evelyne Left,
Eva's Sister, Cora Came To Live With Her. Cora Died In Eva's Home In June, 1951,
Leaving Eva To Live Alone.
Eva Survived The Amputation Of A Leg In An Effor To Prolong Her Life. Mrs. Dorthy
Gunsell, A Daughter Of Emma's Cared For Eva And Her Home In The Later Years Of
Her Life, As Well As Maintaining Her Own Home And Family.
Eva Died May 19th 1962 At Flint, Mi., At 91 Years Of Age. Arie Died Some Ten
Years Before.
The Graves Of Both Arie And Eva Are At The Flint Memorial Part On The Dort, Hwy.,
At Flint, Mi.
